A military suspect died yesterday after taking his own life in Killeen, Texas, and a civilian suspect was arrested by Texas Rangers for the disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen.

Investigation

Special Agents from the U.S. Army Crime Investigation Command were trying to find a young Soldier from Fort Hood, who fled late Tuesday, along with the US Marshals, the Killeen Police Department, and the Lonely Star Leak Task Force.

The civilian suspect is the alienated wife of a former Fort Hood Soldier and is currently being detained by civilian officials in Bell County Prison, awaiting charges.

In addition, with the help of Texas Rangers, Army CID, and other agencies, it continues to process the scene on Tuesday in the River Leon, Texas Bell County, where partial human remains were discovered.

Coordinated with the Armed Forces Medical Examination Services to assist with dental x-rays / DNA for diagnosis by the Southwest Forensic Medicine Institute in Dallas, Texas. A positive determination of the remains is pending.

“We have made significant progress in this tragic situation and are doing everything possible to reach the truth and bring answers to the Pfc family. Vanessa Guillen, ”said Army CID spokesman Chris Gray.

The Army Criminal Investigation Command works closely with multiple law enforcement agencies throughout this investigation, including the FBI, the Belton Police Department, the Bell County Sheriff Department, the US Marshals Service, the Texas Rangers, and the Texas Public Security Department.

According to CID officials, this is still an open and ongoing criminal investigation.

“There is still a lot of research to be done and we want the patience of the public and the media,” said Gray. “There is obviously information and evidence that cannot be shared with the public during an active criminal investigation. Doing so can seriously jeopardize people’s accusations and successful prosecutions. When important investigation information is released early, criminals can destroy and destroy evidence, conspire to change their stories, build false alibis. ”

Vanessa Guillen Missing

The 20-year-old Guillen was last seen on the morning of April 22, in the parking lot of the 3rd Cavalry Regiment in Fort Hood Squadron Headquarters, Fort Hood, Texas, and hasn’t been heard since.
