Amanda Bueno Wiki – Amanda Bueno Bio

The Post, a Brooklyn middle school principal this week urged teachers and administrators to demand government sanctions against Israel – this prompted an outrage and pending investigation by the school system’s independent inspector.

Director Amanda Bueno told staff in AD 136, “If you’re watching the news in complete fear, you’re not alone,” in an email sent in the midst of the clash between Israeli and Hamas terrorists, which has since been postponed.

“You can take action today by protesting, participating in a vigil, making a public commitment to Palestine Liberation, signing a petition, or calling your government officials to impose sanctions on Isreal (sic),” he wrote on Wednesday morning.

“Now is the time to take a stand for those affected by state violence and crimes against the humanity of the most vulnerable in our world.”

Bueno, who wrote the email titled “Day of Action for Solidarity Day with the Palestinian Uprising and the General Strike,” also included a list of contacts.

One of them tweeted on the “Teach Palestine” website, the other on the US Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) On May 10 against Israel’s raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and fired the last round of the Hamas rocket. The attacks led to the article.

His MS 136 teacher, who was Jewish, told The Post: “I opened the e-mail and I was in shock. I felt very targeted and very attacked by his words. ”

These resources she provided, it’s propaganda,” the teacher added.

“There was nothing in the email about Hamas rockets targeting innocent Israeli civilians.”

Lawyer Inna Vernikov — a former staffer for then-Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn), an outspoken supporter of Israel — also sent a letter to the DOE calling for Bueno to be reprimanded.

“New York law forbids requesting or encouraging any public servant, city employee, or subordinate public servant/employee to engage in political activities,” she wrote.

Statement

Replacing Old Town Councilor Chaim Deutsch (D-Brooklyn), Republican candidate Vernikov said he recognized AD 136 teachers who “had close family members living in Israel”.

But he said the educators were “afraid and afraid to oppose such messages out of fear of losing their jobs.”

Outside of school in Sunset Park, several parents criticized the same way that Bueno’s email was told.

“Wrong, wrong, wrong,” said a man who came to pick up his son.

You say, “Stay in the middle.” Support this group, not the other. This is wrong. ”

“I’m not taking sides. I don’t think he should do it as a principal,” said a man who named him Edward and said that his son was a sixth grader.

One man who embraced his daughter said, “You must stay neutral because you have so many different groups of people in New York.”

“The issue is being addressed internally and has been referred [to the special commissioner of the investigation] for further investigation,” said a spokesman for the Ministry of Education. Said.
