Ben Godfrey is a British Superbike champion rider who died tragically at the age of 25 after an accident in Donington Park on Sunday (June 21st). The motorcycle specialist was attending the No Limit Trackdays event when he fell off his bike. Godfrey would represent the BGR Team later this year at the Ducati TiOptions Cup in Silverstone.

While competing in the No Limit Track Days event, the professional motorcyclist fell off his bike. “The Unlimited Track at Donington Park today, during today’s second advanced group session, 25-year-old Ben Godfrey fought another bike on the approach to Redgate and fell from his machine,” the company said in a statement.
“Tragically, he suffered serious injuries and despite immediate medical assistance trackside, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.”

No Limits Trackdays director Mark Neate added: “I am so desperately sad that Ben died from the injuries he sustained.
“Ben really was a fantastic young man and friends with so many people in the paddock, he was always smiling and had time for everyone. He was very excited for the start of the season and had taken part in many track days in the last month.
“Our thoughts are with his family, his partner Jordan and his teammates and friends.”
Fellow British Superbike star Glenn Irwin was among those to pay tribute, posting on Facebook: “Rest in peace Ben Godfrey. Gone way too soon. “My thoughts are with his family, friends and team.”
Leicestershire Police have confirmed that they were called to an “organised racing event” at Donnington at around 11.20 am on Sunday and that one person had died after an incident.
