The incident began after the gang task force saw a wanted suspect of destroying a cathedral early Monday, the king said.
As the officers approached the suspect, the King said that he shook a firearm and entered the house. At that time an environment was determined and the SWAT team and negotiators were called. After hours of unsuccessful negotiations, King said the SWAT team was starting the gas inside the house.
King said the suspect later came out of the house with two firearms and started shooting. The stalker was shot once.
The suspect was shot, but his status is unknown.
“This is a very dark and scary day for the city of Toledo and a time is coming when the Toledo Police Department has had to endure so many dark and horrible days in the last six months,” Kapszukiewicz said in a statement Monday.
On 4 July 2020, Toledo police officer Anthony Dia died after being shot in the chest while responding to a 911 call from a drunk person in the Home Depot parking lot.
