It’s reported and can be seen on video, that the girl, with her pink book bag still strapped on, somehow landed in a crevice between the tracks and survived.
Chilling video of the Monday morning incident was posted all over social media.
In the Kingsbridge Heights section of the Bronx, on the 4 train, it was reported that at around 8 a.m., 45-year-old Fernando Balbuena– Flores, who lives blocks away from the station, was traveling with his 5-year-old daughter.
Fernando Balbuena died, but Ferni miraculously survived, crawling out from under the train nearly unscathed, in an emotional scene caught on video.

According to a report from a local media outlet released from Jacobi Medical Center with a clean bill of health hours later, as Caraballo, 41, thanked God for watching over her daughter.

Fernando Balbuena– Flores was heard by other subway riders speaking on the telephone. He reportedly said in Spanish: “I don’t care.” “Goodbye.” Then, clutching his daughter, jumped in the path of an oncoming train.

Fernando Balbuena Suicide Incident
The girl was standing with her father on the Kingsbridge Road No. 4 train platform around 8 a.m. when he grabbed her in his arms and leaped in front of a southbound train, according to cops. The distraught dad — identified by police sources as Fernando Balbuena — was killed, but his daughter miraculously survived nearly unscathed.
