Police are investigating 11 people and arresting three in connection with Dacera’s New Year’s Day death, the Manila Standard reported. Philippines National Police Chief Debold Sinas said 27-year-old John Pascual Dela Serna III, 29-year-old Rommel Daluro Galida and 25-year-old John Paul Reyes Halili were arrested and charged with “murder and rape.”
Sinas also said that the authorities were looking for nine more people who were with Dacera at the hotel the night before his death. Colonel Harold Depositar, Chief of the Makati City Police Station, told The Inquirer that the rape allegation was due to the victim’s “genitals and sperm”.
His family said they thought Dacera was forced to use prohibited substances during the party. Depositar said three of the men were friends of the victim. “The others were almost unfamiliar to him, as they were only known by three of his friends,” he told the Inquirer. PAL issued a statement following the death of the flight attendant, the Manila Standard reported:
- PAL Express mourns the tragic death of a flight attendant last January 1 during New Year revelry in Makati City. The flight attendant, whose identity we are not at liberty to disclose at this time, was an upstanding and professional PAL Express crew member who will be sorely missed by her colleagues and friends. Our desire is for the truth to come out in the interest of justice.
According to GMA News, Sharon, Dacera’s mother, said she asked her permission before attending her daughter’s New Year’s Eve party. She said she let her daughter go because she was going to be with her friends and she trusted them.
