Christopher Trevino Shot Dead

His family said that a teenager in Texas was shot dead while trying to save his younger sister, who was held at gunpoint.

Police responded to the 100-block Dusky Thrush Drive in Kyle, a city in central Texas, after news of a gunfight at around 2pm on Saturday.

Trevino’s parents told Fox 7 that he was shot while trying to protect his 15-year-old sister from a young boy pointing a gun at him.

The sister told the station that she had plans to sell something to a 15-year-old schoolmate via Snapchat.

When the teenager came to make the purchase, he walked into the street to meet him. However, she said that later she took out a gun and pointed it at him.

Trevino was returning home at that time and had seen the encounter. When she ran across the street to help her sister, the young girl shot her deadly, her family said.

Her mother, Ivory Trevino, told Fox 7 that she “blamed herself” for her sister’s death.

Christopher Trevino, who studied business at Texas A&M University-San Antonio, was living at home and learning online due to the coronavirus outbreak. He also worked at Home Depot.

Trevino’s family described him as intelligent and always willing to help others.

“A good boy” with plans for the future, his mother said, and he had a “light-up” smile.

“He had plans, he had goals, he was in college,” his sister added.

According to the Daily Record, the Kyle Police Department said the murder was drug-related.

Police arrested a 15-year-old hitman from Kyle in an apartment complex.

The teenager was taken to the Jays County Juvenile Detention Center and faces multiple charges including murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and tampering of evidence.

The Kyle Police Department was contacted for additional comment.
