Christopher Williams Restrains ‘Unruly Passenger’
Flight, Delta Flight 386, departed Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Friday, June 4, 2021, and was en route to Nashville, Tennessee when a man tried to enter the cockpit. CBS LA reported that the Delta plane made an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the man was detained.
Authorities did not reveal the man’s name or any further details about the incident. In a statement to CBS LA, Delta described the man as a “rebel passenger” and thanked the crew and passengers for their reactions to the man’s detention.
FBI Albuquerque issued a brief statement on Twitter stating that there was no threat to the public.

Several videos of the incident were recorded showing flight attendants and passengers battling, wrestling with, and restraining the man. A video went viral, and Twitter users have since said they have a newfound respect for flight attendants. Some passengers described the man on Twitter as a hacking attempt.

Christopher Williams Termed as a ‘Hero’ for His Actions
Passengers on the diverted Delta flight and Twitter users praised Williams for his behavior and urged Delta to reward him.
“Support and respect to @Delta flight attendant Christopher Williams who stopped an attempt to hijack a plane. He caught and tied the unstable passenger trying to get into the cockpit. Delta please give this man an award, promotion and bonus,” one Twitter user wrote.
