Claudia Villafane is best known as the ex-wife of legendary Aentinian forward Diego Maradona. Maradona reportedly died at the age of 60 from a heart attack at his home in Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina on November 25, 2020. He is one of the greatest footballers of all time and is considered by many to be the best ever.

Off the pitch, Maradona was a lively personality and known for his extravagant lifestyle. He was officially married once to his ex-wife Claudia Villafane from 1984 to 2003.

On 2 November 2020, Maradona was admitted to a hospital in La Plata for alleged psychological reasons. A representative of the former footballer said his condition was not serious. The day after, he underwent emergency brain surgery to treat a subdural hematoma, a blood clot in the brain.
He was released on 12 November after a successful surgery and was supervised by outpatient doctors. Maradona died of a heart attack at his home in Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of 60 on 25 November 2020. “You will always be in our hearts,” expressed “the deepest sorrow for the death of our legend,” the Argentine Football Federation made a statement on social media.
