Francis was initially charged in 2016 for the death of Mayhew, a television producer who paid $ 1,600 to have the procedure done in the basement of Francis’s house in Queens. According to the terms of his extradition, he was not given more than a year in prison, something that Judge Holder and members of his Mayhew family called an injustice.

Mayhew’s mother, Latrice Statement
“I have to say that the phrase” escape from murder “certainly applies to you,” Holder told the fake doctor during his sentence, according to the New York Post.
“What [the family] is not getting, in my opinion, is justice,” Holder said. “If you are aware, this will haunt you much longer than the 1-year sentence you will serve.” Mayhew’s mother, Latrice, told the Post: ‘If you can sleep because you just killed someone … then you don’t care. She ran away with the murder.
Francis could be free in mid-April with time served. Mayhew’s brother, Richard Lane, also told the newspaper that his sister ‘died of greed. A life lost for money. ‘
During the sentence, Lane read a statement on behalf of his mother, saying that Francis would not tell his mother the address he should give to respondents when he called 911. “Kelly clearly needed emergency services and said,” No, she will be fine, “Lane read to the court. Kelly’s last words to my mother were: “Mommy, take my hand,” Lane said.
The extradition order also requires Francis to serve his sentence in Suffolk County, Long Island, instead of the notorious Rikers Island Detention Center. The interim prosecutor for the Queens district, John Ryan, said Francis injected Mayhew’s buttocks with silicone gel purchased on eBay in the basement of his home in the Far Rockaway neighborhood on May 30, 2015.
Authorities say the silicone entered Mayhew’s bloodstream and killed her. According to Ryan, Francis used a “massage table for an exam table and silicone gel that had been purchased on the Ebay website.” Ryan said Mayhew “suffered a cardiac arrest” while Francis “pumped a transparent liquid substance into the woman’s back.” A day after Mayhew’s death, Francis fled to London and was extradited in August. Francis fought extradition to the United States, but a British judge ruled in October that the seriousness of the crime required that one’s mother be sent to New York to be tried. According to authorities, Mayhew began to show signs of distress after being given a second injection. Her mother, who was with her at the time, dialed 911. Emergency services found Mayhew lying face down at the bottom of the stairs. She was rushed to a nearby hospital and declared dead, according to the District Attorney’s Office. The coroner determined that the official cause of death was systemic silicone embolism. Francis’s daughter will be taken care of by her maternal grandmother during the course of her sentence.
