Elizabeth Ingram Career
“Good Eats” fame Alton Brown has once again become the center of discussion on social media after sharing a sensitive tweet that seemed quite annoying. The Food Network star, who attracted great attention with his pre-election tweets, came to the platform on November 11 to apologize for his “insolent reference” to the Holocaust in his previous tweet.
On November 10, he tweeted, “Do you think your camp uniforms will be striped like the ones at Auschwitz or will be paid for fashion?” The post was criticized soon after and was eventually deleted. However, social media users had already seen him before he disappeared, and so they began to circulate his screenshots on Twitter, which made the situation worse for Brown because people started criticizing him for his “purely anti-Semitic” thinking and more.
When it became clear that the deleted tweet was too uncomfortable, he apologized in another tweet, “I apologize for the daring reference to the Holocaust in my tweet last night. It is not a reference I made for humorous effect, I did it to reflect how afraid I was for our country. It was very poor judgment and bad taste. ”
I apologize for the flippant reference I made to the Holocaust in my tweet last night. It was not a reference I made for humorous effect but rather to reflect how deeply frightened I am for our country. It was a very poor use of judgement and in poor taste.
