Cogelja made headlines during the summer for saying she was “disgusted and horrified” with a new law that required LGBT history to be taught in the classroom, NorthJersey.com reports.

“I find it disgusting that someone’s sexual preferences have anything to do with their contributions or achievements in society,” Cogelja wrote in an email to Rosemary Marks in February. “Everywhere I turn, this alternative lifestyle narrative is pushed (down) to our children’s throats. Where does it end ???”

Frances Cogelja Resigns

According to The Daily Voice, Cogelja resigned from the board of trustees of the Hackensack Board of Education due to the embarrassing video failure he brought his laptop to the toilet to relax.

The Zoom crash occurred at the Hackensack Education Board meeting on Monday. On Tuesday afternoon, the website of the Hackensack school district announced that Cogelja had resigned with effect Tuesday. The board has until January 29th to appoint a replacement.

Cogelja apparently was unaware that he left the camera on, and nearly 140 people attending the virtual meeting, including students, witnessed him going to the toilet.

Scott James-Vickery, vice president of the board, later addressed the NSFW show.

“I think we’re doing our best to this area while our teachers are professionals while you’re sitting on the toilet at home,” he said.
