The couple married on September 20, 1964, and extended their years to 56 years. In an interview with NewsOK in 2015, Charlie Daniels talked about how she saw her marriage as the biggest achievement.

At the 50th anniversary celebration of Daniels and Hazel in 2015, Daniels shared the story of the couple’s first meeting.

While playing with his band Jaguars at the Fondalite Club in Tulsa, Daniels says that a beautiful girl enters the club and catches her eyes instantly.

“One night he came with a girlfriend. And I said, ‘Hey, I love that little blonde boy over there. Hi. How are you? ”

The two fell in love and decided to get married. But Daniels was so busy with his show program that when they didn’t have a show, they had to follow their wedding.

“I had a one night holiday. I had a holiday on Sunday, so we got married on a Sunday morning. I had to go back to work on Monday night, so we didn’t have a honeymoon, ”says Daniels.

Daniels has been able to catch up with Hazel, especially since her sons started college on her trip in 1983 after she started college.

“We have had a lot of honeymoon in the last 50 years. We don’t have to take them for our anniversary, but we’ve seen a good world together, ”says Daniels.

When asked what the secret is to maintain a strong marriage, Daniels says the answer is really simple:

  • “It’s just finding somebody you truly love that you want to spend the rest of your life with…If you can’t find somebody you’d like to spend the rest of your life with, don’t tie the knot, because that’s not gonna make ya happy. I’ve been blessed with finding the girl of my dreams, and here I am 50 years after without a regret in the world about marryin’ my darlin’ from Tulsa.”

Country Music Hall of Fame Charlie Daniels, best known for “The Devil Went to Georgia,” died Monday morning after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83 years old. Her death was confirmed by her publisher Don Murry Grubbs. His wife Hazel and son Charlie Daniels Jr. survived by.

He was best known for his number one country, “The Devil Went to Georgia”. Daniels has been active as a singer and musician since the 1950s.
