Prosecutors say Sturgeon is a resident of Dillon, Montana, where he owns a lawn care business.

The accusation documents accuse Sturgeon of participating in the riot on January 6, where he allegedly lifted a metal police barricade, pushed him to the Capitol officers and crawled down to enter the Capitol Building before he was repulsed.

Sturgeon is currently being held in New York, where federal prosecutors request his dispatch to Washington DC.

According to a statement, the FBI shared an image of Sturgeon with the public taken during the uprising, providing several clues identifying him as the man in the photo.

According to the affidavit, investigators were able to track an Instagram account with a Facebook account showing Sturgeon posing with a rifle, as well as a few pictures and comments depicting the Capitol rebellion.

A whistleblower warned the FBI that Sturgeon “travels frequently and has access to a large number of weapons.”

Investigators say Sturgeon flew to the African country of Kenya on January 24 and is not scheduled to return to the United States until April 5.

However, the authorities in Kenya ordered the deportation of Sturgeon and was expelled from the country on a plane bound for America on March 5.

When his plane landed at JFK the next day, federal officials were waiting to arrest him.

Sturgeon will appear on Monday, where prosecutors will defend his arrest pending trial, claiming the risk of escape and danger to the public.

Prosecutors want the suspect to be sent to DC, where the charges are made.

Sturgeon has been accused of obstructing a formal trial, attacking a federal officer, civil unrest, entering a prohibited building, irregular conduct in a restricted building, twice physical violence in a restricted building, and blocking the passage on the Capitol grounds.

It was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer to comment on his behalf.

More than 250 people have so far been charged in connection with the January 6 attack.
