Jahneil Douglas Shot Dead in Shooting West Toledo
Jahneil Douglas, a young defense team of the University of Toledo football team, was killed in an attack on Tuesday night. He was 22 years old.
The victim, 22-year-old Jahneil Douglas, had already been taken to ProMedica Toledo Hospital via private vehicle before the officers arrived on scene.
According to detectives for the case, a fight outside of Gino’s Pizza between two men resulted in shots being fired. The victim was then taken to the hospital where he later died. Although the restaurant has surveillance video near where the shooting happened, there is no word yet on an arrest in the case.

Douglas was pronounced deceased at the hospital at 11:41 p.m.
According to WTOL, Douglas was shot outside of a pizza restaurant at 11:30 in Toledo. Tuesday night. Police told WTOL that there was a fight between the two men outside the restaurant. Douglas was later transferred to the hospital where he died. No arrests were made.

Rockets head coach Jason Candle described Douglas as “a hard-working young man who is loved by his teammates and coaches.”
“The Toledo Football family was broken by the loss of Jahneil,” said Candle. “He was a hardworking youth, loved by all his teammates and coaches. Our most sincere condolences go to Jahneil’s family and friends in these difficult times. Jahneil will be part of the Rocket Football family forever. ”
