Conservative radio presenter Jay Severin, who previously worked for TheBlaze, is dead. He was 69 years old. Severin suffered from cancer. Severin described himself as “a radical libertine.” Throughout his career, Severin hosted shows at the WTKK and WXKS-AM Talk 1200 in the Raleigh-Durham region.
“We have received a valid confirmation that Jay has passed,” Severin’s Facebook page said in a short statement from 9 July. Thank you for being part of the radio family. May God comfort the mourners. ”
Severin’s ex-colleague at TheBlaze and Boston Herald Matthew Graham tweeted about Severin’s death: “Jay Severin passed away this week. It made me one of the greatest favors in my professional life: that’s why we came to Boston. It took me some time to explore New England, but when I came here, I knew it was the place I wanted to look for. Thanks, Jay. ”
Speaking to Blaze, Graham said about Severin: “What’s fascinating to me is,“ I was conservative because of Jay Severin. This is his legacy – a lesson in the air, no one can get away from it. Glenn Beck, founder of The Blaze, says in an article about Severin:
- Jay was one of the rare talents that could not only see beyond the headline but had the empathy to understand how it affected the listener. He was a good man, and I’m a better one for having known him.
