In one, he saw that he was taking a long stick from another man. Another shows him standing in an elevated area near the entrance, stabbing the bat in a downward motion at the officers dressed in riot gear beneath him.
Officers in the pictures are wearing helmets with plastic face-shields pulled down. The complaint can be heard on the body cam of Mellis saying “Take off your masks.”
According to the court document, after the uprising, Mellis posted on his Facebook page about “attacking the castle”.
“We want judicial control of the vote. The post is simple, ”he said. “We will not go away. We will not surrender.”
The complaint was stated that Mellis shared his anger over the accusations of Antifa and Black Lives Matter in the attack, as the two whistleblowers explained that they shared the 2020 elections on Facebook and the media with increasing frequency about it.
“Don’t try to say that people blame this on antifa and BLM,” he said in the post. “We proudly take responsibility for attacking the Castle.”
