Jorge Vergara was a Mexican businessman and former owner of the former MLS club Chivas USA, as well as the Chivas of Guadalajara of Mexico and Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica. He bought giant Chivas from the MX League in 2002 and modernized the club, winning league titles in 2006 and 2017. The club built a new stadium on the outskirts of Guadalajara, opening it with a 2010 match against Manchester United. Chivas USA operated in the MLS from 2005 to 2014. The club reached the MLS Cup Playoffs in four of its first five seasons in the league.

Jorge Vergara Death & Cause
Vergara died on November 15, 2019 as a result of a heart attack in New York City.
