The 34-year-old Kitchen was last seen at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis on August 8, according to Prince George’s County Police Department.

Kitchen’s brother tweeted that Sunday night the family had been told just before 2:30 pm. that his body was found in the house. On social media, the Democratic Party of Maryland and the Young Democrats confirmed the death. The party tweeted that Kitchen has “a kind heart that impresses so many”.

Prince George County police said on Saturday that they were looking for Kitchen, whose family said they had not been able to reach him since Tuesday. His brother, Lawrence Ramirez, said the 34-year-old kitchen was found dead by police at his home on Sunday. Prince George’s police confirmed the death.

Ramirez said there is no suspected foul. She said Kitchen, who works as outreach and volunteering director at the Washington Girls’ School in Southeast Washington, told the school on Tuesday that she was sick.

“What we want people to remember is that Joseph was a great advocate of youth of color and in environments they couldn’t control,” Ramirez said. When it comes to youth in underserved areas, he has worked his life fighting for a change. We want people to remember it for that. Ramirez said the funeral arrangements will be announced by his family in the coming days.

Kitchen’s disappearance and death have resulted in increased support among politicians in Maryland who began locating Kitchen over the weekend and mourned its loss.

Del. Jazz M. Lewis (D-Prince George’s) wrote on Twitter, “He defended the youth in everything Joseph did.” “He never had to be in the front, but he was constantly working in the background, thinking what more we can do to give the next generation a real voice on the table.”

Del Jheanelle K. Wilkins (D-Montgomery) thanked everyone for their efforts to find the Kitchen. “Rest in peace, my dear friend,” he wrote. I really miss you.

“I pray that the good he has accomplished on this side of Jordan will be a civil service legacy that we can all imitate,” said Calvin S. Hawkins II (D-At Large), a Prince George County Council member.
