Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he wasn’t sure if there was a single hitman.
Kenosha police told the Heavy that the State Justice Department was investigating the shot; The DOJ is also the lead agency investigating the police shooting of Jacob Blake, who initiated the whole disorder. Eyewitnesses told that Heavy had been shot in the head of a man at the scene and described people with convulsions and lying on the floor.
Videos and eyewitnesses described a confusing scene with multiple gunfire explosions. At one point, videos and eyewitnesses show that a white man in a green shirt ran down the street and shouted that he was not a hitman while people were chasing him. Several witnesses said that the Heavy was shot by a skateboarder and fell to the ground, shooting with a gun. People said they heard more than one gun being fired. Before the chase, a shot had been fired. Three witnesses told the Heavy that the actual hitman was a person with a helmet and a bulletproof vest and was not the same man being chased. They said the first fire was ignited when the white man argued with Black Lives Matter protesters for lighting fire in the area. Pictures of the man in the green shirt were widely circulated on social media as people tried to identify him. “There is another victim at the end of the block. In one of the videos you can see later in the story, there is a man, a loaded gun on the way,” he says.
“After people chased a man with a rifle, more than one gun was fired. The rifle guy tripped and crashed. He fired at a man who jumped his gun on him, ”wrote TownHall.com journalist Julio Rosas.
In a video of CJ TV, as you can see above, shooting starts at about 7 minutes of the video. The narrator says that at one point in the video a man’s arm “exploded”. A gunman shot two people, the narrator says. He describes the man in the green shirt as one of the “militia” people.
At the beginning of the video, protesters go to control a tire fire. Gunshots are heard at this point. The narrator says, “Gunshots over there,” and starts running. People start shouting for a doctor. An upside down garbage can lies in the middle of the street.
Then the man in the green shirt runs down the middle of the street with a long gun. Someone said, They’ll beat him. Make more gunfire.
The narrator says, “Oh my god shot that man in the stomach.” “S ***, people around us get shot.”
The accused shooter wears a green shirt with a backward-facing baseball cap and runs with a long gun. People chase. Make more gunfire. Someone shouted, “I didn’t do it.”

“Oh my f****** Christ God, he says. “Oh s***, that’s gunshots. They’re shooting.” The gunshots break out at 3 hours and 40 minutes into the video above. Right before the shooting, Mercado says, “It looks like the town is kicking the people out. These are community members here.” Multiple gunshots ring out. “Shots fired. That’s real gunfire. Just passing 61st Street,” he says.
“Somebody’s hurt,” a man shouts.
“There’s still gunshots in the city. They’re shooting,” says Mercado. People run down the street.
“That’s not the shooter,” he says at another point. “Now he’s on the ground. He’s shooting, he’s shooting, he’s shooting. Get down. Get down.” More gunshots ring out.
“People down, shots are fired.”
More shots ring out in the video.
There is a fire burning on the street.
There is confusion about the man people are chasing. He got hit in the head and just shot him, man. He had a gun, ”Mercado said.
Another man said to him, “This is too much.” “Another person down the street was shot without being shot.”
A white man with a gun in a baseball cap was interviewed. “We left at the beginning to protect the property here. Things got a little complicated,” he said. “We managed to calm him down. Then we were trying to provide medical assistance to the protesters. He said he had various injuries, including “shooting people” in his arm.
“We don’t know who, what or why, someone approached someone with a gun and fire,” the man said, adding that two people, possibly a third, were shot. The accused hitman was saying, “I did not shoot anyone.” He had a medical bag on his back.

TownHall reporter Rosas described a series of clashes between armed citizens and demonstrators.
“The rebels clashed with the armed citizens here to prevent the looting and destruction of their workplaces,” he said. Three witnesses told Heavy that they believed that at least one of the hitmen was part of one of these groups of armed citizens; they described the group as “All Lives Matters” as their focus, saying that one of their members was wearing a shirt bearing this slogan but that was not the hitman.
As the Heavy gathered with the crowd of police near the courthouse, he saw a group of white men in camouflage and clearly long guns marching toward the protest crowd. This was about an hour before shooting. Heavy also observed that multiple Black Lives Matter protesters were clearly carrying firearms. People also lit fire, broke windows and smashed cars. In a viral video, an elderly business owner was attacked while trying to defend his business with a fire extinguisher.
At one point, the men were in a group with protesters who talked about using leaf blowers and fire extinguishers against the police. It is unclear whether this group is the same group as the member involved in the armed attacks; witnesses said there was more than one such group. Counter protesters organized their resistance on social media. There was a lot of firepower in the streets of Kenosha; Heavy also observed heavily armed citizens guarding a gas station and a car dealer and blocking and guarding the entrance to an entire subdivision.
“A person in a red shirt was arguing,” said Delreno Jackson, who witnessed the Heavy being shot in an interview at the scene. His friend tried to stop him because he saw the gun in his waist. A fire was opened. “The first shooter said a trash can was thrown away after being upset by the fire of the Black Lives Matter protesters. The first shooter threw a trash can to stop it, Jackson said.
He had to run. Everyone was chasing him. More shots rang out. At that point I went to the house and bowed, ”said one of the hitmen. He said he had more than one hitman.
The shooters “had helmets, vests, gun hangers, guns and similar things on their waist,” he said. I think the whites were shooting. At one point he saw a member of the group wearing an All Lives Matter shirt. Jackson is from Chicago, lives in Racine and came to Kenosha for “Movement”. “They were trying to save something, like a Superman,” he said of the group. He had already heard that “two people had died”. One was shot in the head. “One of the shooters” was running. I believe he was falling … he leaned over and then started firing in circles. ”
Jackson said he was “scared.” I didn’t know what to do. I was just bending over and trying not to get in the middle so as not to be shot. “He called it” crazy “and said it was” too fast “and” everyone had a gun. ”
A woman named Ashlea Roberts also described at least two hitmen: a man in a green shirt and a man in a helmet and a bulletproof vest. At one point, the officers told dispatchers that FBI negotiators were directed to a home to assist local police with a suspect in the current conflict. Police were searching the wreckage of a burned Community Penitentiary Agency. They also put the description of a car on the scanner.
The crime scene has expanded a full block. The yellow tape started in a building with Black Lives Matter graffiti and wrapped around the street. The crime scene was clearly the street itself.
A third eyewitness interviewed by Heavy at the scene said that one of the hitmen “had one of the longer guns”. The eyewitness, who wanted his name to be printed just as Anna, said that “the skateboard hit his head and started shooting in the air.” ”
The clashes were ignited after groups of protesters were pushed back from the county courthouse with riot equipment by police using tear gas, plastic bullets and heavy-duty vehicles to transport the crowd out of a park and down the street.
Roberts also discovered a bruise on his arm from a plastic bullet and a plastic bullet.
