63-year-old Linda Magovern was accused of imitating a law enforcement officer, disobeying, and fleeing from a law enforcement agency after showing herself at the checkpoint while in a car.

Linda Magovern approached the checkpoint at Columbus Circle and First Street NE at around 8:45 am, reportedly being a cabinet member and displaying “a round metal object later identified as the Military Police Challenge Coin,” WRC reports.

Magovern displayed “a round metal object that was later identified as Military Police Struggle Coin”, according to a police report, and said it was part of law enforcement. According to a police report received by NBC News, Magovern initially obeyed when asked to park his car, then abandoned the car when asked to issue his driver’s license.

Police said the officers eventually stopped her and took her to the hospital for evaluation.

DC police did not respond to a request for comment, and it was not immediately clear whether Magovern had an attorney.

His arrest came after the Capitol rebellion and security in D.C was dramatically increased when Joe Biden, elected President, took office just days later. The National Guard increased the troop levels to 25,000, as much of the city was in closed traffic and checkpoints.

Police arrested a man at the opening checkpoint on Friday with his unregistered gun and hundreds of bullets.
