As a player, he played as a central striker from 1992 to 2007, especially in the Premier League for Chelsea, Southampton, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United. Management career
On May 20, 2009, it was announced that Shipperley had become Bedfont’s manager in the Combined Counties League. In the summer of 2010, Shipperley was named manager of Walton Casuals in the Isthmian League Division One South. After 15 months in office, he left the club in October 2011. In Boxing Day 2011, Shipperley was confirmed as the successor of Steve Ringrose in North Greenford United, a position he held until May 2012 when he resigned to seek managerial experience at a higher level, although he returned in October 2012 after Jon’s dismissal – Barrie Bates. He made a player appearance against Leighton Town in the final game of the 2012-13 season. Shipperley’s second term as manager at Berkeley Fields came to an end when he resigned in February 2014 after a 4–1 loss to Dunstable Town.
