Greenbrier County Sheriff Bruce Sloan claims that Myers suffers from depression and that her husband is due to logistics transportation problems in Williamsburg, W.Va. He said he was sorry for staying with his father for two weeks instead of himself and his children at home. Thursday.
The brutal timeline began with Myers picking up his two sons at the end of school Tuesday, drawing a red line on his face from the bus stop.
When witnesses asked investigators whether he was bleeding by his children, Myers said he had drawn it.
An hour later, firefighters answered a 911 call at the family home and found the house completely in flames.
After the flames were extinguished, the bodies of the young victims were found in the house with shotgun wounds on their heads. Myers was found dead by the murder weapon near a picnic table outside the house.
Officials said the gun was not automatic, meaning Myers had to reload the rifle before each fatal explosion.
Sloan said the text messages sent a week before the tragedy between Myers and her husband indicated that Bumgarner’s absence at work was the source of a heated dispute between the couple.
“Don’t worry about this piece of [cursing] anymore. You will have nothing to return but the corpse. Your choice of money compared to my depression indicates that I am [abusive]. Nobody cares what to do?” She read one of the desperate texts Myers sent to her husband.
“The money will come and go, once I go it will not be my place. I beg for help and I cry but I never understand. I don’t care about my mental health anymore what should be inclined to help me.”
Myers left a few notes to her husband showing his guilt.
I’m so sorry Brian, someone read. I wasn’t strong enough for you or this family. My head is very (revealing). I’m sorry for my bad crime. I wasn’t strong enough to fight these demons, Snap. Crunch, Boom. Pretty depressed, troubled. Heart numbness. The soul is completely shattered. I’m sorry to fail you. Sorry, I failed our handsome boys. I’m so sorry that I’m not strong enough. OAM. ”
I shot all the men in the head. I set the house on fire. I shot myself in the head. “I’m sorry,” he wrote.
“Mental health is serious. I hope someday someone helps others like me. Mental health is not joking or taking it lightly. If someone begs, begs, calls for help, please help them. You can save one or more lives. Thank you OAM.”
Sloan said she was unaware that Myers was being treated for mental illness.
According to the joint obituary for the four young victims, Shaun “was interested in space and wanted to be an astronaut.”
Riley was a budding musician “learning to play piano and ukulele.”
Aarikyle was a young artist who “loves Ninja Turtles and superheroes.”
One-year-old Haiken was “spoiled by everyone and loved driving their toy cars.”
Sloane said the case was closed and anyone suffering from depression or expressing suicidal thoughts urged family members to seek help immediately.
