Since 2011, Seoul’s leader Park Won-soon disappeared early Thursday evening and launched a search involving more than 700 police and firefighters. The body of 64-year-old Bay Park was discovered early Friday, local time, according to the South Park’s semi-official Yonhap News Agency.

Park Won-Soon Career
Mr. Park was elected mayor of Seoul in 2011 and was elected to his third and final term in June of last year.
As a member of President Moon Jae-in’s liberal Democratic Party, Mr. Park was reportedly considered a potential presidential candidate in the 2022 election.
With his re-election last year, Mr. Park became the first mayor of the city to begin a third term. As a civil activist and human rights lawyer, he moved his history to the position of mayor and was a clear critic of social inequality and corruption in South Korea.
As a lawyer, he secured the country’s first sexual harassment conviction.
With former president Park Geun-Hye, he openly supported millions of people protesting against him in 2017 and 2017 before being imprisoned before being charged with bribes and other charges.
Park Won-Soon Missing
According to a police officer who knew the case, Park Won-soon was reported missing by his daughter on Thursday evening. Together with the three rescue dogs, about 600 police officers and firefighters were assigned to call the mayor.
Police officer Lee Byeong-Seok told reporters that Park was seen by a security camera at 10:53 near the entrance of the wooded area where the phone signal was last detected. About 600 police and firefighters using drones and dogs searched the area for hours on Thursday.

Park’s body was found in the city’s mountains seven hours into the operation, Seoul police confirmed in a text message early Friday to journalists.
Park Won-Soon Death & Cause
His body was found on Mount Bugak in northern Seoul, where the phone signal was last detected. No cause of death has been released yet.
