Patrycja died at his home in Drumalane Park in Newry yesterday morning of August 2.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and detained.
Detective Inspector Mark Gibson said: “In this extremely sad time, my thoughts are too much with Patrycja’s family and friends.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the Drumalane Park area of Newry between 8.30pm on Saturday, 1 August and 8.30am on Sunday, 2 August and who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference
He applied to everyone in the area from 20:30 on Saturday to 08:30 on Sunday and saw or heard anything suspected of contacting the police.
There was a prayer service outside the house on Sunday evening, and some neighbors left flowers.
Gerry Coyle of the Drumalane Park Community Association said BBC News NI neighbors were “heartbroken” by the news.
“It was a terrible shock, and to be honest, we were still very traumatized,” the BBC told the Good Morning Ulster program.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as well as his friends in the Polish community.”
Mr. Coyle lives just across the street, a few meters from the house where the woman died.
“The young woman was only here for a short time, but we always say,” You’re still one of us when we’re in our community. ”
Gavin Malone, an independent councilor in Newry, said without a doubt that residents will “gather” to help the woman’s family and friends.
“Drumalane has a very strong community and a great community spirit,” he said.
“They’re so lucky to have a great community association out there to help people overcome it.”
A second prayer service is expected on Monday at 19:30 at Drumalane Park.
