It was found to be a fatal five-inch stab wound that was given “medium strength” and cut the artery. Skerry, who made 50 convictions for robbery, assault and crimes attacking police officers, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 12 years of advice.

A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: “Skerry is described as 5ft 8in tall, of proportionate build, with light brown shaved hair and blue eyes.

“He has scars on both legs and speaks with a Liverpool accent.

“He has links to the Liverpool area including Speke, Garston and Old Swan.
