A suspect was arrested in connection with the murder of a man in a house in Newport Beach on Thursday night.

Newport Beach police responded to reports of gunfire in the 20000 blocks of Orchid Street around 20:00.

Police said they came to find a dead man in a house, the victim of the murder. He was not identified immediately.

The suspect, identified as Rodney James Hartzel, was later arrested.

The conditions of death and the cause of the murder were not immediately released.
