Ronald Lee Haskell Wiki – Ronald Lee Haskell Bio
Ronald Lee Haskell had been scheming for months to carry out the “cold-blooded execution” of the Stay family in 2014, prosecutor Samantha Knecht said during closing arguments.
Haskell wanted to hurt anybody who had helped his ex-wife following their divorce and his anger drove him to create a meticulous plan to achieve that goal, authorities have said. He traveled from California to suburban Houston and stalked the family of his(Ronald Lee Haskell) ex-wife, Melannie Lyon, for two days before launching his attack. Ronald Haskell is led into the courtroom for closing arguments in his capital murder trial.

Family Member killed By Ronald Lee Haskell
Stephen Stay, 39, Katie Stay, 33, two boys, ages 13 and 4, and two girls, ages 9 and 7, were killed when Haskell opened fire, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. Only one member of the family, then 15-year-old Cassidy Stay, survived
Haskell didn’t react, but the lone survivor of Haskell’s vicious massacre, Cassidy Stay, appeared to choke back tears and perhaps said a silent prayer. Cassidy was just 15 years old in 2014 when her Uncle Ron shot her in the head and killed her parents Katie and Stephen Stay and her four siblings– 13-year-old Bryan, 9-year-old Emily, 7-year-old Rebecca, and 4-year-old Zach.
Ronald Lee Haskell & His Ex-Wife Melannie Lyon
Ronald Lee Haskell warned his wife that her family would be killed if she told anyone about his pattern of persistent physical and emotional abuse, she testified Monday during his capital murder trial.
More than a year after leaving her husband, Ronald Lee Haskell made good on the threat, ex-wife Melannie Lyon said. She learned on July 9, 2014, that Haskell fatally shot her sister, Katie Stay, as well as her brother-in-law and four of the couple’s five children.
Melannie Lyon, 38, told jurors that Haskell had often threatened to harm her and her family if she told anyone about his physical and emotional abuse—and instantly knew it was her ex-husband when she heard her family members had been murdered.
“He had carried through on his promises to make me watch my family die,” Melannie Lyon said.
Melannie Lyon Mother’s views about Ronald Lee Haskell
The mother of four spoke about the abuse she endured during her 12-year marriage to Haskell, who isolated her from her family and threatened to kill her if she left. In 2008, Melannie Lyon said she finally reported her husband’s abuse, at which point he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and was granted nine months probation. Five years later, she said she reached a breaking point when her husband punched her during a fight about flooring for their new Utah home.
Ronald Lee Haskell Arrested Wiki
When he’d finished shooting, Haskell fled and Stay called the police, telling them “Uncle Ronnie” was heading to her grandparents’ house. Several officers caught up with Haskell near Lyon’s parents’ home and arrested him after a standoff.
