Rapper Saint Dog, real name Steven Thronson, died at the age of 44 while having trouble breathing by friends at his home in Victorville, CA, as law enforcement has confirmed to TMZ. He was found dead early on Wednesday, October 14th. The rapper’s friends had called 911, but it was announced that he died at the scene.

According to TMZ, there were no obvious signs of foul and the cause of death will be determined after autopsy and toxicology reports emerge. Saint was one of the founding members of the Southern California hip-hop group known as the Kottonmouth Kings. D-Loc and Johnny Richter were the other two members of the trio.

Speaking about the late rapper, Suburban Noize Records manager Kevin Zinger told TMZ: β€œEveryone who knew Steve saw what a big heart he had. Some of my favorite memories were watching Steve stop the music in the middle of a Kottonmouth Kings show and bring a disabled fan on stage in a wheelchair so he could see the show better and even attend a few songs. Steve was just such a person, and he touched a lot of people in a positive way. His legacy will live in his music, and our hearts will go to his son Max and his entire family, friends and fans around the world. ”

People mourned the loss as soon as the news appeared on the Internet. A user tweeted, “Damn, so young! As the name of Saint Dog’s hip-hop group suggests, the trio loved to rap about weed in all capacities. The late American rapper was with the group only in the early years of being involved in projects such as “Stoners Reeking Havoc”, “Royal Highness”, “Stash Box” and “Hidden Stash”. Saint John then continued his solo career for a while, but later returned to Kottonmouth Kings.
