Tuck is famous for his stamina, and his ex-teammate Jack Riewoldt recalled an example he played with a broken scapula. “He was a footballer,” Riewoldt told SEN.

Ormer Richmond player Shane Tuck died at the age of 38. Tuck, the son of Hawthorn legend Michael and a member of the large Ablett family, received 173 appearances for the Tigers.

“On behalf of the Tuck family, the Hawthorn Football Club was very upset to inform the football community about the passage of Shane Tuck,” Hawthorn said on Monday. “Shane passed away this morning at the age of 38.

“Hawthorn Football Club and the entire football community are extending their deepest condolences to the Tuck family and they want their privacy respected.”

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale described Tuck as a “humble, fun-loving person.”

“We are incredibly upset with the news that Shane has passed, he will be very missed by everyone,” Gale said.

“We send the deepest condolences to Shane’s family and loved ones – his wife Kat, their children Will and Ava, their parents Michael and Fay, and the extended Tuck family.

Shane was a fighter on the court who gave everything to the team every week and was humble, fun-loving on the field. ”

Originally designed by his father’s Hawthorn in 2000, Tuck took a second chance with Richmond and made his AFL debut in 2004.

It quickly became organized and missed only five games between 2005 and 2010.
