Ted Cruz Wiki – Ted Cruz Biography
Rafael Edward Cruz (/kruːz/; born December 22, 1970) is an American politician and attorney serving as the junior United States Senator for Texas since 2013. He was the runner-up for the Republican presidential nomination in the 2016 election.
Ted Cruz Didn’t Wear a Face Mask
According to a photo of a traveler, American Airlines did not wear a face mask for part of the flight from Houston to Dallas on Sunday.
Cruz was also photographed without a mask at the airport’s gate. Desiring to remain anonymous, the passenger sent photos of an unmasked Cruz to a friend who forwarded the images to Hosseh Enad, who works for the Democratic Congress Campaign Committee.
Enad published an image of Cruz standing on the plane looking at his phone and holding a cup of coffee and another photo of the Cruz sans mask waiting at the airport gate. Speaking to Business Insider, Enad did not seem to want the airline crew to wear a mask from Cruz.
American Airlines policy says that all passengers should wear a mask on the flight, except for young children and those with a health condition that prevents them from wearing a mask. Passengers are allowed to temporarily unmask while eating or drinking.
“To help promote safety, Senator Cruz wears a mask when traveling, and practices social distancing where possible,” a spokesperson for Cruz told Business Insider in an email. “Consistent with airline policy, he temporarily removes the mask while eating or drinking. Yesterday during his flight he removed his mask to drink and put it back on afterward. We should all practice common sense measures to slow the spread of the virus.”
The spokesperson did not immediately confirm whether Cruz was eating or drinking for the whole flight or in the gate.

This comes as Texas’s coronavirus cases and deaths increase. The state reported more than 9,060 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday – the second newest number of infections behind Florida in the USA.
President Donald Trump refused to wear hundreds of faces, despite the federal government’s recommendation that all Americans wear cloth facings when they cannot make social distances. And it held several political rallies, including indoor spaces, that did not require masks or social distances. Trump wore a mask for the first time on public during his visit to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Saturday.
