Te’Lea Jefferson Arrest & Charge

Police admitted that a Florida woman caring for a 3-year-old boy fatally beat her with a tire iron while brushing her teeth.
However, according to court records, the boy’s extensive injuries, including severe cuts on his face and hands, bruises on his arms and legs, were not “consistent” with Jefferson’s version of the events.

Saying that the victim had an affair with his parent, Jefferson later admitted that he attacked him after ordering investigators to get out of the sink.

“It angered him that he refused to go down when he was told,” says an arrest report. Jefferson went to his bedroom and said he took the tire iron from his toolbox.

Jefferson then went back to the toilet and tossed the dowel at the boy and hit the side of his face, he told the police.

Jefferson allegedly admitted to hitting the boy with a rubber iron several times, including after he tried to escape and recalled seeing blood splatter from his body during the attack. The police said he later hid the object outside the house.

According to an arrest report, Jefferson probably died before he came to the hospital with him because Jefferson told the police he was unresponsive at the time.
It was announced that the boy, who was under Jefferson’s supervision, died six minutes after arriving at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, suffering a severe facial trauma to his face and head. According to the newspaper, the child’s body temperature was 88 degrees at that time.

Investigation

Department officials said hospital officials later contacted the police regarding the child’s “suspicious death”.

“During the investigation, the possible reason was developed in this case to accuse the victim’s caregiver of hitting the child with an object and resulting in death,” police said in a statement.

Jefferson’s first trial on Wednesday continued through Thursday so his lawyer could join the case. According to the Tallahassee Democrat, he was detained at the Leon County Detention Facility without loops.
