Tom DiLorenzo is a retired American economics professor at the University of North Dakota. The former University of North Dakota is remembered for its work ethic and care for students.

DiLorenzo taught at New York State University in Buffalo, George Mason University, and the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. Since 1992, he was professor of economics at Loyola University’s Maryland Sellinger Business School and Provost at the University of North Dakota before retiring.

DiLorenzo was shot and killed in Charleston, South Carolina while walking with his wife.
According to the police, he was shot “during the robbery attempt” and later died in the hospital; his wife Dr. Suzanne Austin was not physically damaged. Lorenzo is remembered for his work ethic and care for his students.

I am SO, SO sorry to hear about the death of recently retired UND Provost Dr. Tom DiLorenzo. I did not know him personally, but I knew of his service to our state.
