Austrian interior minister said on Thursday that eight of the 16 people detained following the attack Monday night had previously been convicted.
Interior Minister Karl Nehammer told reporters that four were convicted of terrorism-related crimes, two of violent crimes, and two of attempted “honor killings”.
“We have had an intense collaboration with the FBI,” Nehammer added, providing “valuable information” to Austrian authorities.
