Police identified Brandon Carter, 44, of Seaman, Ohio, as the suspect in the crime spree that left at least three people dead and one injured. An Ohio man is suspected of setting a fatal fire in his home before killing a delivery man at a gas station and then taking his own life at the end of a police chase, authorities said Friday.

Police say the gunman, who has been identified as Brandon Carter of Seaman, shot two people at an Adams County gas station, killing one of them. The gunman then fatally shot himself after a lengthy chase, according to police.

investigators say Carter’s home in Seaman had been set on fire, and human remains were found there. No identification has been made at this time on the victims.
That home was among four scenes, including two gas stations in Adams County, and the site where Brandon Carter crashed his vehicle and took his own life in Pike County. A delivery truck driver was shot and killed at a Marathon station along State Route 32, and a clerk also was shot. She is in stable condition at a Cincinnati hospital.
Police said that Brandon Carterhad also set fire to the home he shared with his mother, and investigators reported late Friday that they had discovered human remains at the site.

Officials with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said they approached the vehicle and found Brandon Carter dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

- Carter fatally shot a delivery truck driver at a gas station in Seaman, about an hour east of Cincinnati, while in the process of attempting to abduct a female clerk, authorities told Cincinnati ABC affiliate WCPO.
- He then shot and injured the clerk as she was trying to run away.
- Carter then drove off and robbed another gas station before police spotted his vehicle and gave chase. The pursuit ended in Pike Country, where Carter crashed his car and then fatally shot himself as police closed in, authorities said.
