Donna Campbell worked at one of Velindre’s cancer centers before passing away in the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
She is thought to be the third healthcare worker in Wales to die after contracting the virus.
Donna Campbell, a support worker at Velindre Hospital in Whitchurch, died at the University Hospital of Wales on Friday with COVID-19.

Donna Campbell, who cared for patients at the Velindre Hospital in Cardiff, was admitted to the University Hospital of Wales last week and passed away on Good Friday, confirmed Velindre Hospital.
A spokesman for the centre said: “It is with incredible sadness, that we are letting you know that on Friday, April 10, Donna Campbell, one of our Velindre Cancer Centre Healthcare support workers, passed away after being tested positive for COVID-19.
Steve Ham, the chief executive of the trust, said she “would always be remembered” at the hospital.
He said: “We are devastated to have lost a member of the Velindre family.
“We will always remember her as a dedicated, hard-working member of our nursing team who was proud to work for the NHS.”
A tribute from the trust said Ms Campbell’s “warm and genuine nature” comforted people in difficult times.
It added: “She was, without doubt, a treasured member of our work family who could light up a room with her infectious laugh and bubbly personality, but at the same time she had the most wonderful ability to comfort and care for people.”
Paying tribute to their colleague, staff on the ward said: “She was, without doubt, a treasured member of our work family who could light up a room with her infectious laugh and bubbly personality, but at the same time she had the most wonderful ability to comfort and care for people.”
“She was often found singing and dancing, entertaining patients and staff, making everyone smile.

Chief Executive of Velindre University NHS Trust, Steve Ham said:
“We are devastated to have lost a member of the Velindre family. We will always remember her as a dedicated, hard-working member of our nursing team who was proud to work for the NHS. First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest condolences to Donna’s family and friends.”
The trust said patients and their families often commented on how Donna’s warm and genuine nature made then feel comforted and loved even at the most difficult of times.
