Judge Wendy Joseph Statement

Wendy Joseph QC said today: ‘Jodie was a bright, warm and loving girl who could have given so many to so many and should have led a happy and full life. ‘All of that was taken away by an act of cruel, casual and totally irresponsible violence. ‘Those present on the scene will live with horror for a long, long time. The entire community has been shocked to the bottom, and the ramifications have spread. ” The judge said the stabbing occurred in the midst of an ever-increasing “eye-for-eye” revenge among rival drug dealers. The judge agreed to lift the restrictions on reports on the identity of Isaacs in the exceptional circumstances of the case.

Explaining his reasons, he said: ‘The important thing is that a girl without guilt is dead at the hands of those involved and those associated with drug trafficking in the streets. ‘This death has brought great concern to the community. Those who suffer, who extend well beyond Jodie’s friends and family, need and have the right to know and understand how this has occurred. ”
