Katlyn Alix Husband & Family
As per the Riverfront Times, Alix was married. In addition to her husband Tonny, she is survived by her parents and sister. A registry in her name shows she was married in October 2018.
Katlyn Alix Funeral
Family and friends of St. Louis police, Katlyn Alix, gathered for her funeral held on January 30, 2019. The funeral ceremony was held at St. Louis Basilica Cathedral, her new husband Tony joined the mourners on duty at St. Louis Basilica Cathedral, where he was given a police honor guard. After her funeral, her family issued a statement calling her “the best girl, the best person.”
Her mom, Aimee Chadwick said: ‘Everybody that knew Katie loved Katie. Katie’s the best child, the best person.’
Katlyn’s dad Ron Alix added: ‘This world lost a lot when we lost Katie we lost a lot.’
Katlyn Alix Police and Military Service
Katlyn Alix recently graduated from the police academy since 2017. The Post-Dispatch reported that she was assigned to the Second District on patrol. KMOV-TV reports that Katlyn Alix served in the U.S. Army. UU. A tribute quote to Katlyn on the Twitter page said: “He served his community and his nation with dignity and courage as both a police officer and a member of the army. That’s how she lived, like a hero. And, for now, that’s all everyone needs to know. ”
Nathaniel Hendren, Identified as the officer who Shot Katlyn Alix
Nathaniel Hendren is accused of firing the deadly bullet that killed agent Katlyn Alix, in what authorities claim was a round of reckless shooting. He was working as a police officer at that time.
On January 25th, 2019, however, the officer who fired the bullet that killed Alix – Nathaniel Hendren, 29 – was identified and charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action. Both charges are felonies.
Katlyn Alix Death
Alix died after being shot in the chest inside a home. Police originally said that Alix’s death was an accidental shooting and initially withheld other specifics about what happened in the early morning hours.
Katlyn Alix Investigations
Alix was pronounced dead in the hospital. For reasons that the police have not yet explained, the shooter who has not been revealed was also hospitalized soon after, according to the Post-Dispatch. In addition to the mystery, a white police SUV sat outside the hospital surrounded by crime tape with a broken window. Broken glass covered the nearby pavement, a video of the hospital showed. Hayden refused to answer questions about how that detail fits into the shooting, and told reporters “all of that will be part of the investigation.”
Two investigations have now launched: one by the St. Louis Police Department and another by the St. Louis Circuit Attorney with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Authorities asked for patience as investigators try to unravel the facts behind Alix’s slaying, including why the on-duty cops were at one of their homes while they were meant to be working.
