YouTube crashed as of Wednesday evening. In the early evening in the eastern time, the site started having problems with video uploading, causing thousands of people to flock to Twitter to see what the problem was.
According to the Down Detector, users started reporting problems at 19:13 EST. Users continue to report issues with the web and mobile versions of YouTube.com, particularly with video uploading. Ads don’t seem to load either. Instead, many users are faced with a rotating indication that the video is loading or buffering for minutes.
The Official Team YouTube Twitter account delivered the following update at 19:23: “If you are currently having trouble watching videos on YouTube, you are not alone – our team is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. We will follow the updates here.”
Forty minutes later, the problem is still not resolved.
Many users took the opportunity to make some requests from YouTube, although the YouTube Team tweet included a brave user who said “premium subscribers definitely deserve a free month for it.”

If the platform in question is not working, it has become a ritual for users of any social media network or web platform to turn to Twitter. That was the case on Wednesday evening, with tens of thousands of people taking to Twitter to see if others were also having problems with YouTube.
One person tweeted, “It’s fascinating how this happens around the world …”
Another person wrote, “So 2020 is killing YouTube now.”

Others joined the conversation to say that their YouTube access was not interrupted. Someone tweeted, “Hmmm YouTube looks good for me? #YouTubeDOWN”
The main problem reported by users was the inability to upload videos. For some, these videos finally started playing after an abnormally long time to load.

Another person said, “How is YouTube crashing? Google has all those backup servers and it’s useless to make sure that isn’t really possible lol”
