Michael Jackson: The Legendary King of Pop

Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, at St. Mary’s Mercy Hospital in Gary, Indiana. He was the seventh of nine children born to Joseph and Katherine Jackson. His father, Joseph, was a crane operator at US Steel and played guitar with a local rhythm and blues band, the Falcons, to supplement the family’s income. His mother, Katherine, was a Jehovah’s Witness and worked part-time at Sears. Michael Jackson began singing and dancing at a very young age; in addition, he went on to become one of the most successful entertainers of all time.

He was a gifted performer, and he quickly became the lead singer of the Jackson 5, a family band that included his brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. The Jackson 5 signed with Motown Records in 1969, and they quickly became one of the most popular groups in the world.

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50, from cardiac arrest caused by a propofol overdose, in California, Los Angeles County Coroner’s office ruled his death as a homicide. The world mourned the death of the legendary Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson’s funeral was held on July 7, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Today, people still remember him as one of the greatest entertainers of all time. His music, dance, and fashion continue to inspire and entertain people around the world.
